12th September marked the first day of the second round of the Duleep trophy 2024-25 held at the Rural Development Trust stadium, Anantapur.
As India A competed against India D, India A’s Shams Mulani led his team to a significant recovery with an unbeaten 88 runs from 174 balls.
This included 8 brilliant boundaries and 3 sixes. The player stands not out with just 12 runs remaining to his first-ever first-class century.
Tanush Kotian partnered with Shams Mulani and scored 53 runs on 80 balls. This 91-run partnership helped recover the innings.
India A got off to a shaky start as Mayank Agarwal and Pratham Singh fell to pacer Vidwath Kaverappa within the first ten overs.
However, Riyan Parag fought back by hitting six strong fours, including an impressive one over the boundary. He played an aggressive innings, scoring 37 runs in 29 balls.
However, his time at the crease ended when he played outside the off-stump and got caught at first slip from a delivery by Arshdeep Singh.
India C’s Ishan Kishan slammed a half-century in more than a run-a-ball for the India C vs India B match.

Sanju Samson walked back to the pavilion and failed to make an impact. The player mistimed his swing as he tried to hit Aaqib Khan’s short ball and got out at a mere 6 balls and 5 runs.
India D’s captain Shreyas Iyer walked onto the field with sunglasses and his swagger on. The player was applauded on social media for his style.
However, this admiration was short-lived as the player soon fell for a duck at seven balls. He was met with relentless trolls and memes after the embarrassing incident.
