In 1951, the Guntur Recreation Club sent recurrent pleas to the Madras Cricket Association for the creation of a separate body for the Andhra area. After ample efforts, the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) was finally established in 1953, marking the official beginning of organized cricket in the region.

M.S.K. Prasad
Mannava Sri Kanth Prasad, also known as M.S.K. Prasad is a retired Indian cricketer and wicket-keeper who became a selector and contributed to the growth of the Andhra cricket team. Most recently, he acted as the chief selector of the Indian National Cricket Team.

The home ground for the Andhra Cricket team is ‘Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA–VDCA Cricket Stadium, located in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
The team competed for the Ranji trophy in 1953-54, under the captaincy of C.K. Nayudu, who scored the team’s first fifty in the match. It has since then competed in every Ranji trophy, skipping only the 1961-62 tournament.

Nitish Kumar Reddy
Nitish Kumar Reddy is an Indian cricketer who plays for the Andhra cricket team in domestic cricket. He made his first-class debut in January 2020, playing for Andhra in the 2019–20 Ranji Trophy.
Reddy initially attracted attention when he started the 2017-18 Vijay Merchant Trophy with a triple-century for Andhra, followed by a 345-ball 441 win against Nagaland. His run count in the match remains the record-highest tally in the tournament’s history. It earned him the season’s BCCI’s award for best U-16 cricketer and now he is an IPL star.
Due to his impressive skills and sportsmanship, Reddy earned the interest of Sunrisers Hyderabad and played for the franchise in the Indian Premier League.

Ricky Bhui
Ricky Bhui is an Indian cricketer from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, who plays domestic cricket for the Andhra Cricket Team. He is a right-handed batsman and an occasional leg-spinner.
Ricky is a remarkable player who scored an unbeaten hundred on his List A debut. Additionally, he also scored a record hundred on his Twenty20 debut. He is the only player from the Andhra Pradesh Ranji team to play for Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise in IPL 2018.
K.S. Bharat
Kona Srikar Bharat, popularly known as K.S. Bharat, is an Indian international cricketer who plays domestic cricket for the Andhra Cricket Team.
He scored a triple hundred in the Ranji trophy in 2015 and became the first wicket-keeper batsman to have achieved that feat in the Ranji tournaments and only the fifth player in the history of India’s First-Class cricket.
Given his remarkable skills, he was picked up by the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise in 2021 to play in the Indian Premier League. Afterwards, in 2024, he played in the IPL for Sunrisers Hyderabad as well.
