On Monday 9th September, the International Cricket Council (ICC) released the revised schedule for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024.
After the BCCI categorically said no to ICC to host the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup, the event has now shifted from Bangladesh to the UAE.
However, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will maintain its hosting rights.
The BCB and the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) will partner to ensure the successful organization of the event.
The tournament is scheduled to begin on October 3.
The Indian women’s cricket team is all set to face their neighbours cum rivals, the Pakistan women’s cricket team on the 6th of October in Dubai.
The Sharjah Cricket Stadium and Dubai International Cricket Stadium are the two key venues scheduled to host the matches.
The champions of the tournament will be announced on the 20th of October in Dubai, the final day of the tournament.
The warm-up matches will commence on 28 September at the ICC Academy Grounds in Dubai.

Groups at the ICC T20 Women’s World Cup
The best 10 teams from around the globe will compete for the title.
Group A teams are India, Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka.
Group B teams are Bangladesh, England, South Africa, West Indies, and Scotland.
A total of 23 matches will unfold over 18 days to determine the new world champions.
The top two teams from each group will move on to the semifinals on October 17 and 18, with the grand final set for October 20 in Dubai.
In the 2023 ICC Women’s World Cup, India reached the semifinals but was knocked out by Australia, six-time winners of the trophy.
The Indian women’s cricket team is all set and hopeful to bring back the trophy this year. It is going to be a gripping series of matches!
